A pouco tempo eu tentei jogar novamente o NFS Undercover versão para PC. O jogo instalou sem problemas, ele chega até abrir, porém depois que eu seleciono o perfil de jogador para começar a jogatina, o jogo trava ainda na tela de loading. Já anexei aqui o arquivo do DxDiag em txt, caso necessário.
For some reason I still don't understand, the game no longer works on Windows. It simply freezes after creating a new save, whether it's the "EA App/Origin" version or the "Steam" version. Yes, I bought both versions many years ago.
However, on SteamOS, the Steam version of the game works,
and it's possible to install the "Genericfix" mod
and the update that gives access to the "Challenge Series."
Below are the installation instructions.
Install normally through Steam, but once finished, don't open the game yet.
Switch to desktop mode, open the Steam window,
click the "Library" tab, find Need for Speed Undercover in your list of games,
right-click the game icon, and then click "Properties."
In the "General" tab, in the "Launch Options" field, paste the following command:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%
Click the Compatibility tab,
check the "Force use of specific Steam tools" box, and select Proton 9 from the list.
Click the "Installed Files" tab and click the "Explore..." box.
Keep this window open; this is the game's installation folder.
Open another window and locate the folder. "NFSUndercover.GenericFix"
Copy the contents of the "NFSUndercover.GenericFix" mod folder
and paste it into the game's installation folder.
Copy the contents of the "steam_unofficial_patch_1.0.1.18" patch folder
and paste it into the game's installation folder.
Return to the game's properties window and click the "controller" tab,
then select the "disable steam input" option.
Return to the Steam window and click play.
With each new installation, the game will ask you to install and update Punkbuster.
Accept and then click cancel.
That's it, now just return to gaming mode and play.
The game will now recognize and display
the Xbox (or PlayStation) controller icons as configured in the "NFSUndercover.GenericFix"
It will also be updated to its latest version,
thanks to "steam_unofficial_patch_1.0.1.18."
This update gives you access. the "Challenge Series"
which is one of the most difficult in the entire Need for Speed series
