Confusion About EA Play Release Date
This EA Help page states that the Game will be coming out this Monday (October 10) with EA Play. The XF and Standard Edition Dates are incorrect on that page, but they did use to say the correct date...

Well if this new release window is true, it is pretty stupid. Look at last year:
Friday 15th - standard edition release
Tuesday 12th - 3 day early access with Xfactor edition
Thursday 7th - 5 day early access for 10 hours with EA play
That makes sense and this was the way since EA play started several years ago (5 days early access).
Now you are telling me that if I paid for Xfactor edition, I can play at the midnight from 10th/11th (monday / tuesday) and with EA play, I will get 10 hours AFTER release of the game - "sometime" on tuesday the 11th? That doesnt make any sense...
It's been the case a few years where that 10 hour trial would be earlier than base launch and even X Factor (or its equivilent) early access but I haven't seen any news about that with NHL 23 and assumed they finally lined things up.
In any case I asked the CM about the 10 hour trial specifically; I'll update when I get more info

So, from what I can gather, the EA Play site is correct. It says October 10th because of timezones and stuff making it the earliest possible time to play (12am EST official launch is really 9pm PST for me so i can play 3 hours "early").
I think this means the team has finally synced the temporary EA Play 10 hour trial early access with XFactor/Ultimate Edition's permanent early access. The days of 5 day temp early access even before the more expensive perm early access are gone
- @TTZ_Dipsy Ok, so in other words the EA Play 10h trial is only for those who didn't get the X-Factor edition?
Also since the 10h trial was given a few days before the launch of the 3-day early access in previous years... no one was able to anticipate this change as it was not announced!
There are a lot of people who are wondering what is going on, I strongly suggest that someone in the NHL 23 dev team post something official on Twitter and everywhere else to inform everyone of this situation clearly.
P.S. You won't play 3 hours early. If I log on at midnight and you logon at 9PM we're going to be on at the same time. 😉 So there is no 3h access earlier for you!
