OK!
So, from what I can gather, the EA Play site is correct. It says October 10th because of timezones and stuff making it the earliest possible time to play (12am EST official launch is really 9pm PST for me so i can play 3 hours "early").
I think this means the team has finally synced the temporary EA Play 10 hour trial early access with XFactor/Ultimate Edition's permanent early access. The days of 5 day temp early access even before the more expensive perm early access are gone
Also since the 10h trial was given a few days before the launch of the 3-day early access in previous years... no one was able to anticipate this change as it was not announced!
There are a lot of people who are wondering what is going on, I strongly suggest that someone in the NHL 23 dev team post something official on Twitter and everywhere else to inform everyone of this situation clearly.
P.S. You won't play 3 hours early. If I log on at midnight and you logon at 9PM we're going to be on at the same time. 😉 So there is no 3h access earlier for you!

It would appear that way, yes.
Yup I used to take advantage of the extra days too; I'll ping someone about making an official post here and Twitter
Lol well technically no but through the magic of timezones the illusion is still there
- martmet3 years agoNew Vanguard@TTZ_Dipsy One of the most common complain I hear everywhere (youtube, twitch, etc) is the lack of communication between the NHL 23 dev team/management and the players.
Even if there is some clear improvements lately, the twitch/YT stars like NoSleeves, Henreek or Nasher are often complaining about information missing and the difficulty to get clear answers on a variety of topics.
Having you addressing our concerns and escalating issues to people who can actually inform us on twitter or on the forum is a major win for the community.
In other words, thank you. We need to keep the communication channels open.- TTZ_Dipsy3 years agoLegend
I've brought up the lack of communication internally as well but EA, especially the sports division, is under a larger amount of red tape than other departments/companies and it makes it hard for even CM's to get fast and accurate data.
Trust me when I say Aljo and Blueberry try/tried to give as much info as possible. Speaking of, for those not in the know, Blueberry has taken on a familiar yet different role and there will be a new community lead in EA Kent (but try not to ping if you can help it).
There is a growing number of players, myself included, who are fairly opposed to these streamer/youtubers since their main concern seems to be HUT -I don't envy those in charge of balancing general needs and catering to what pays the bills.
