Would sure make sense to serve one of the top valued markets in the NHL and the home of the league's best player
I'm within an our of Edmonton and this game is borderline unplayable online, no excuses for that

Even if there was a server in Edmonton, that doesn’t mean you’d always be playing on it unless you set every search to match best region in EASHL or to match whatever ping that works out to be in HUT. In which case, you could be looking at lengthy wait times.
East players almost always back out of club games that end up on a west server. They’re spoiled with more servers and a higher player base out there so they have that luxury.- DannytheTemp3 years agoNew Veteran@Socair What possible drawbacks would there be?

You can search best region, but doesn’t mean you’ll find games easily. Unless you’re playing with AI in EASHL, I suppose you would match up with the same players over and over. I already see that as is. And in HUT it would mean longer wait times if you restricted the ping to your lowest. There’s far more players searching at any given time in the NE region than the NW.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m in AB too and it would be nice to play on 10ms or whatever. Just being realistic about possible outcomes with such a server.
