Community ManagerYou're getting the LD because they're the player in the best position to properly defend that play. Player switching is not broken and this video is a good example of that.
How is the player right next to the puck carrier not in a position to defend? And if it's giving me the player who's in the best position to defend, why does it select my forward at the opponents blue line, instead of the player right next to the puck carrier?
I thought the quick switch gave you the closest to the puck.

No. It gives you the player that is in the best position to make a play on the puck. If you had switched to the player you wanted, chances are excellent you wouldn't have been able to do anything. Hitting is going to slow you down while they are rushing down the ice. Switching to the defender is a much better option.
- @EA_Aljo but why does completely ignore the player in the middle? If it's supposed to give the player in best position, that would seem to be the player in the middle, not the player still inside the offensive zone. That doesn't make any sense to me.

I know my player is a bit closer in this clip, but it selects the player behind the puck carrier even though he's in a bad position.
