timed one tees are almost never stopped by the goalie regardless of their positioning.
and poke checking is stupid easy to do and hardly ever gets a penalty called.
EASHL is so unbalanced.
They took what worked last year and made everything worse.
Actually I think it is the most balanced we have seen it in a long time. People are able to be creative this year and we are seeing a lot more deking from all players now that it is more effective. Poke checks are very strong in some places but are weak and punishable in others. You can also use stick lifts more effectively than we have seen in many years past. One timers can easily be stopped by teams. Stop letting them have free shots from the blueline and go and pressure their defenseman. If it is the wingers, than stop playing passively and get in that pass lane. If you are allowing OneTimers to be taken, its the defense fault ....not defenseman specifically.... the defense as a whole]. Goalies can't bail you out like they were able to last year every time and it is up to the team to make sure to protect against these shots.
The only thing I have really heard be a hot discussion topic is the shoves are non existent and some of the minor bugs like the Faceoff bug. I personally, don't think the shoves are that bad as it forces people to play with bigger builds to have a better check, but at the same time I can see people being upset a 160 can't shove an equivalent 160 build at least a little bit off the puck.

EAs frozen water edge makes all good player tuned down and lesser teams tuned up it's horrible this year maybe EA needs to tune down poke checking the nhl doesn't have players look like they're seizing all over the ice like this game does
What game mode are you playing? If it’s anything with penalties, it’s so easy to draw penalties on poke spammers. Use the protect puck, do a curl drag, or perform a spin move. These all have a high chance of drawing a trip. Once the powerplay goals start poring the pokes become less frequent.
