Yes, the removal of any player to execute a well-timed reverse hit to null any truculence abuse has been removed from the game. This is allowing players to body check with impunity. Please allow ANY player to use a well-timed reverse hit to null the knock-down effect from someone just racing around holding body check.
Furthermore, the re-introduction of tractor beam hitting mechanics is forcing the puck carrier into animation states that don't allow them to fire off a quick pass or shot. This needs to be fixed!

If defenders have no contest and high Def. Awareness, this is okay. When you consider goalies will sit and stare at a rebound sitting in front of them, it makes sense to give some leverage to the defenders in these scenarios.

When you get to elite levels in OVP, HUT or WoC - you're always going to see 'rush only' mentality. The key is not to swap defenders too much during the neutral zone transitions and allow the AI to get into passing lanes. They're surprisingly adept this year at clogging the neutral zone - if you let them.
Homie45677654 wrote:Elite edges makes it so the only offensive possession you can achieve is a single player dancing around entire defenses instead of passing and creating plays. This is very unrealistic and feels like it was designed for game modes like HUT instead of real hockey.
It's okay to keep them to the outside and let them take bad shots. I'm top 100 in OVP and am consistently schooled when it comes to TIme on Attack because I will allow my opponent to skate around like a doofus in my zone all game long if it means they only take weak wristers from the slot.

Agreed but I think this is a good thing. In previous games, that 'wideness' of player models you speak of was seemingly triggered while in Defensive Skill Stick. It's nice to see that's expanded to regular player states as well.

I believe they've re-tooled slap passes to work like a manual deflection now. As the player standing in front of the net, you'll find you can actually direct how you deflect the puck when it comes towards you. In practice mode, a teammate and myself figured out if you stand in front of the net holding LT - you can simultaneously hold Right Stick in the direction you want to deflect the puck and your player will try.
