What are you talking about? You should not rely on AI players in EASHL but invite your friends and create your own club. AI can't win games for you. If AI is good enough, then you will not be encouraged to find your teamates. That was the best decision EA has made ever to force you to find teamates if you want to play EASHL. If you need better D with good positioning, try to find good D human players to your team.

Nobody is saying the AI players in EASHL should be good, they just need to be competent, rather than terrible as they've been for the past few years. Even if you have a full squad, sometimes not all are able to play. Sometimes you have your full squad, but someone gets disconnected mid-game. We shouldn't have to suffer with terrible AI players in those cases.

They are competent enough. But they can't be good enough. If someone get disconnected mid-game, this is just only one game, it's relatively rare these days but you can always disconnect as a whole team, because obstacles are on your side not on the side of your opponent. If you know the weaknesses of AI players, you can support them, but not rely on them. AI can't score game winning goals for you. You have to play your own games, you have to play your own defense. Find more human players, invite them to your team. If you don't have enough players for 6s, you should play 3s.

It's not by any means rare or even uncommon to disconnect from an NHL game lol; every other post not talking about goalie masks or gm connected is related to connection issues.
To say the AI is even remotely competent is insane dude. You can still be a top 100 team playing with AI but that doesn't mean we should just accept the frustration. They deliberately try to sabotage you in certain instances
