Goalie has too much RNG/luck involved, or im missing something critical
There has to be some consistency for a skill based game. This goes for all positions and not just goalie. I have heard complaints about poke checks, puck pickups, cross checking, boarding penalties etc. from skaters but I cant comment on those as I pretty much strictly play goalie.
That being said I can not for the life of me understand how the following can be saves, while also allowing the next set of examples to be goals. The consistency of the game and how saves are made need to be looked at, you should either have the reverse effect be consistent where the goals shown should be saves and the saves should be goals OR everything here should be a goal, but the way thats it is right now makes it seem like every shot has the potential to go in and that no matter how good you position yourself, you're just praying that you roll a good outcome on the NHL dice of gambling.
Why are these saves?
And if those are saves, then why are these goals?
And not that I dont appreciate everyones advice and thoughts on this forum but unfortunately everything we assume is just educated guesses here. My question is rhetorical in the sense that if the saves here are saves then why arent the others which are clearly better positionally than the others. There just is no consistency. If im in bad position, sure it should be a goal, but the first set are saves that I had no business saving when goals are scored as shown in the second. You cant have it both ways if you're looking to play competitive.
