Ice Q
So what happened with ice q? I don't really play many game modes. Yet I don't really see it being shown off at all. Did I miss something? What was it's point? I am just curious not hating. Just gene...
However, if you take the time to learn what the developers want out of the human to get the most out of the AI, you can get better results and there's clearly been an adjustment in NHL 26. Not enough to warrant marketing it as an all-new feature though.
that's the problem, I have no idea what they want out of "the human". to me it's all about scoring and I hate that. you won't score every game and shouldn't really have to. try yes, but you won't. so why get hammered on the form score as in this video.

can someone explain to me WHY I got only an 84 for that game? they never scored (shutout), I got an assist, had 13 shots, and 4 hits (and don't have the faintest idea how I got a 0 in +/- with an assist and they not scoring). what more do they want from a "human" against a computer that can "think" a trillion time faster. but my, and many others, point is that WE shouldn't have to learn what the developers want out of us it SHOULD be THEY learn what WE want and put it in the game. we pay their pay checks for petes sake. a lot of people have an easier time with the controls or dekeing or what not, I, and many others, don't but we shouldn't get penalized for it and we do. I know exactly where, and who, I want a pass to go to but somehow it goes so far off track I want to throw my controller or I want to turn one way but he goes in the total opposite of the way I turned my controller stick. my guy has around 87 to 89 speed but he can hardly out skate a large defender or anyone on any other team for that matter. the only sliders I changed was the poke check and stick lift. I put human all the way up to 100 poke check accuracy and around 80 power and put CPU down to 0 in both but their landing more than I am. I poked checked and it may go about an inch. they do and it goes completely off my stick far where I can't reach it. and just for curiosity, do you adjust any sliders? I'm really trying not to argue or anything like that, it's just I believe that in your rookie year, the highest form score you should have to get is a 50 or above. I don't think a NHL coach is going to send a rookie to the minors after 8 games for having a "55 form score". now say a quarter way in the season he goes from 55 to say 60 but then after half way in the season he shows no progress then yea maybe but if you are 55-60 in the first quarter, 65-70 half way, then 70+ by the end then geez he stays in the NHL. I shouldn't have to spend precious trait points just to stay in the NHL which could be used to up my main stats. this is what I'm saying about them listening to us and not us having to learn what they want out of us

When it comes to Form Score, I agree. I'm not a big BAP guy, but your comments are something I see often when it comes to that mode and the form score has been a pain point for almost everyone it seems. Hopefully that gets fixed up for '27.
Sadly, it looks like they will be moving to the direction of pay to win for offline modes too - that will be the way they fix it in the next few games. (CFB 27 is the prime example of this for RTG and Dynasty)
I'd advise on holding off on those assumptions. Not everything in every sports game we make is replicated across all of them.
I wasn't making assumptions - was looking at the new trend (is that not something that needs to be factored in) - EA is on a whole a company - mechanics need to be tested on a large market/playerbase to gauge the reaction and see how they would work in other titles. This is how they handled Ultimate team (released it on FIFA and Madden to guage how it went and added it to NHL a year later)

Honestly, if people want to pay to quickly max out offline coaches & players, I wouldn't blame EA for cashing in on that. You'd think the entire payoff for playing offline modes is accomplishing the goals to obtain the points required to eventually max those out but if some people just want to smash the CPU all day, then let them pay extra to do so. So long as it's kept out of multiplayer modes, it really has no impact.
Its the fact that they purposely removed options to gain xp faster to push you towards purchasing them (punishing you for playing it normally). They were in prior games however now you only have the slower options to gain xp. That is where the issue lies.
Also, I would see this as a test run to see how it works for a 2k style mode for your player career so online and offline. So it would be combined.
it got to the point today (wednesday actually) that I got so pissed off that I deleted the game and all saved files from my system. I'm sick and tired of getting penalized for everything and having so much deducted from the coaches score that it takes the the rest of the period and sometimes the rest of the game to get it back were it was. for me at least, it's impossible to play a forward and I mean a winger. I hate having to stay at the point while the other team crashes the net and scores. then I get a bad line defense and get a freaking -4% FOR ONE GOAL?!?!?!? that's what infuriates me. but my gosh, I had 3 shots on goal and did good forechecking and guess what I got. a big fat 0, nothing for it and we stayed in the offensive zone for a while. I can't stand being the ONLY one who gets hammered like that while everyone else on the team (AI I mean) can give the puck up all game long and don't have to worry about being sent to the minors. I did reinstall it and made an enforcer defenseman again. I'm just going to stick to D. oh and the -4% for one goal was with the defenseman and I was right in front of the shooter, so close I could have kissed him and he scores anyway because I, somehow, missed the poke check. wasn't like I was a mile away or behind him or something but nope doesn't matter, they scored so we'll gig you a bunch anyway. and if I'm not mistaken, when the game first came out it used to be -1% for a goal unless you gave up about 3 or more then it went up. I think it was like -2% for the 3rd goal then about 4 it was -7%. I am playing 10 min periods if that has anything to do with it?
