Saucer pass

A couple of years ago, the saucer pass was perfect — you had full control over its power. In NHL 25, they raised the minimum power a bit, which wasn’t ideal but still manageable. But now in 26 the manual saucer pass is always fast. It really limits creativity and narrows the skill gap. Please, fix it.

    Read this:

"Not nearly slow enough. You can pass straight to a teammate, but not a soft saucer into space where they’ll arrive in two seconds."

I think the issue is that the sauce pass in your video is executed by a tap of R1. Previously, tapping R1 would be a very slow sauce into open ice. To get a slower sauce, you need to hold R1 in NHL 26, but this doesn't get the same effect as putting the puck in open ice because holding R1 still increases trajectory.

Currently, there's no way to limit trajectory of the sauce while softly putting it into open ice.

  • I'm just saying I had ideas for new X-Factors that focused on Saucer passes having more height making them slightly harder to intercept but also slightly harder to pickup if the pass isn't as precise.  Then another X-Factor on Saucer Passes that had more finesse to them allow for more accuracy in short distances to say capitalize on sauces from behind the net or up close.  Of course none of those were added but maybe later down the road we see one.

I'm surprised there isn't simply a way to modify the pass regardless of how long you press or held the button.

Like,  R1 to Saucer Pass,   Press/Hold R1 and flick right stick down for low and fast, flick RS down and up (slapshot) for higher but slower.

Still lets you flick up RS + hold R1 for the tip shots in the offensive zone, and I can't think of any slap shot involving holding down R1.

  • In HUT and in Versus there was absolutely nothing wrong with the saucer pass, using it for a break out or cross crease one timers or tap in
