I agree with Javiair in his assessment on BAP. I've been playing BAP since it's inception in '09 and is the only mode I truly love. I primarily play as a d-man and this year's version is a step in the right direction but the majority of the flaws have been listed above.
A couple of qualms to me not listed above that I would like to add to this thread are:
- Be a pro starts you at 16 years old which is not at all realistic
- before any updates were applied you were being drafted at 18 but since updates have occurred you're stuck with being 16 (I've even tried moving birthdays and still no success in being 18)
- The ability to buy items for upgrades and not have to wait for renewal dates
- if you turn on auto-renew you miss out on new upgrades completely
I also am seconding his thoughts on:
- The form score and activities experience are just not helpful
- Form score you can play a good hockey game but without a goal, you're form score suffers immensely
- Spending so many energy points on health prevents any meaningful player upgrades from occurring
- The ability to have the calendar is a feature I didn't think I would miss until it's gone
- Cut scene presentations for winning the Stanley Cup are cool but you don't have the option to pick yourself to hoist the cup
- I could only select other players which ruined the winning experience but the locker room cut scene was cool
- I too would love to see transactions and injury reports on other teams
I do enjoy the ability to go back to the AHL which was a big realistic factor that was missing from previous iterations so not all is lost but I feel like there is some room for improvement that can hold us over if they patch correctly or else we're waiting another 10 years until they pay attention to this game mode.
