Wildcard

EA just ruined HUT completely. They block progress through forcing players to paly against online cheaters in WILDCARD which MUST be offline as a weekly progress mode. Now the game is not only cheating itself with CPU players - now it forces you playing ageinst online cheaters.

EA - aufter over 30 years - this is the first time I want my money back. Stop ignoring the community.

EA really hates offliners 

I was thinking the same. Last year they ried to sell the HUT experience as play the way that you want online or offline and rewards will be the same but that only lasted till February. They took Squad Battles, 3v3 Rush, WildCard is now Online only and I think you're right Cup Chase is next. What is it with EA making bad decisions in February? 

It seems to be a silent, creeping process to milk some more money out of the players who for some reason still play this fantasy hockey game. And yes, maybe CC is next. It's obvious that they didn't put much effort into creating this mode to begin with. I personally don't care about WildCard since I'm not interested in the cards you can get from playing the Kiddy-Mode with stupid mascots, but I feel bad for people who'd like to play it. Either way, there's nothing you can do about it.

At least in past months it gave up credits to be used in the objective they put out. Like this superstar origins. They were tradeable. Still peeved that the decided to remove Squad Battles for this mind numbing 55 day XP event.

They have become a franchise that seems only concerned with financial gain. They have lost the direction this game set out to be. When there were other variations of the NHL game, EA was much more contributing to the overall player base. Now. They manipulate the direction of the game, such as the XP format, the Captains format. Salary based teams. Intro of new objectives, making you adopt certain team players to achieve it. And now. The flipping of wildcard to online, rather than open to both online/offline.

I couldn't agree more, besides that this "Hockey" game comes with so many flaws and bugs that may or not may have been introduced on purpose but made or stayed in-game and nobody seems to care about fixing those glaring bugs because why should they? As long as gamers shell out money for the -mostly useless- card packs all is good for EA.

Basically whatever can be wrong in a game manifests itself in this installment. From the still choppy player movement [2K was better concerning this 16 years ago] to the "Thing that shall not be named", to the switch to getting rid of offline players. It's a sad time for hockey fans who don't want to wear childish costumes on their avatar-player and play CHEL. Time for a line change.

On the same token, why not re-configure this game into FTP?  Maybe EA will lose some money after release, but since they don't do much else besides roster updates and creating options for gamers to buy card packs they could reduce the workforce and at the end make even more revenue, since the amount of people willing to pay for cards might be rising [that won't include me].

If they do remove CC, at least replace it with the old Squad Battles, instead of coming up with mind numbing concepts like the 55 day XP marathon. The XP concept only shows their lack of being involved. In SBs it was a weekly thing. They had to be involved for that, monitoring a players individual progression, and corresponding rewards.
