Be a Pro: Could not play games although in lineup

I am playing as defenseman and was in the healthy scratch rotation, so I played every other game. Then the coach changed the lineup due to injuries and I was put on the 4th line wing. I found that was a nice variation for my career.

BUT: I could not play any of these games! The menu just offered me to sim these games. What a pity. I guess the programming of the mode is not complete and does not cover that one can play outside of the originally chosen role.
