Dual controllers

I typically use 1 controller for my wired mic and then a wired secondary controller for gameplay. In NHL 25 I would sometimes have to turn off the mic controller to get the gameplay one to register. Now I no longer have that option. I use earbuds for my mic and I do not want to have to go get some bulky wireless headset just to play chel. Please help!
