Another year of disappointment. Been here for over a decade now asking for this. Getting old.

Yah.
I mean, I have no intent to buy the game because its just not worth buying every year for a small patch at premium price but ill just say, if they ever want to sell me a game again, they better figure it out for PC soon because once this xbox is outdated, im never buying a console again. I only bought this xbox for NHL and I feel guilt about it every day.

I can understand maybe why they originally stopped. But they made it for 15 years prior and in the 18 years since so much has changed that it seems EA has just happily left a lot of older gamers to wander the dessert forever...and are leaving many more news with their money out there in the dust.
Since they stopped producing a PC version the NHL has added:
Vegas
Seattle
Over tripled the league revenue
Record setting attendances and TV ratingsSince then the NHL and its teams have:
Drafted many high talent, high profile American players
Built huge online presences
Started holding overseas exhibition matches
You already got the PWHL (which again wasn't around in 2008) so now you can actively target the female audience on an another platform that might not necessarily game too much but has a laptop/pc for school and wants to play some hockey. And that can go for anyone in general: not everyone has/wants a console—but they just might wanna play a game! And with the US teams winning the Olympics, and the NHL bringing back its own best on best World Cup....
Oh, and let's not forget since then DRM has gotten way stronger (not that I necessarily like that ;)) and distribution platforms like Steam and the PC based mobile gaming devices....there are several out there and an obvious market for them!
Not sure what the EA execs are thinking for not ordering a PC version....even if it is a 3-5 year trial test the modern waters and try and regain users to the platform and franchise. I've said it many of times. If it's going to happen expect it around the time the next gen consoles would arrive. So my guess would be NHL 29 at the earliest

Maybe it will be back for PC eventually, but I'm not convinced. I know they have other sport game series that are on PC, but I don't know how good it is for buisness with NHL.
I can only speak for myself, and as someone who has bought every game since 99 (and 95 and 97 for SNES), I played on PC from 99 to 07, and bought 08, but realized it lacked many of the new key features and got myself a PS3 and never looked back.
The reason I buy it every year is that I want the latest rosters and usually some new feature that interest me.
If it came to PC I would be a lot more tentative about buying it every year, that's for sure. With people making mods and stuff, maybe it will take years before I feel the need to upgrade again. Great for me, but not good for EA's business. Of course I'm only one player, but with a game that sell less than their other sports games, it's possible their overall sales drop, because people don't actually need to buy the latest game every year if they get the PC release.

personally hope it stays that way. seems to ruin most games, flooded with hackers and exploits

Pc sucks anyways. Idk why people be crying about that. EA keeping it traditional and only releasing it on console. When comes to hockey atleast

This is a very bad calculation on the part of EA. Why not put NHL 27 on PC like all other games. Even UFC 6 will be the same for the first time Football College NCAA 27. It's a lost financial windfall. There are many more people who own a PC than a next Gen console. Personally I opted for A powerful PC with a Radeon 6950 xt to buy a console. If someone from EA can answer me it's totally stupid and unproductive, they lose a lot of money. Especially since ea fc, MADDEN is adapted every year. Besides, I'm going to buy College football 27 because of what I've seen I think it's great. I'll take the MADDEN 27 and College Football 27 pack.

Honestly, your thinking is totally meaningless. Why would adapt it to PC would be bad? On the contrary, it is a financial windfall that escapes EA. We have to stop this gueguerre PC Consoles we are all gamers. Many people have both. I've had consoles since I was 11. I still own my PS1 games, PS2, a backwards compatible PS3, a first-gen PS4 and an XBOX 360. I don't see om, is it?
