There's no thought/development process behind the AI it's just trade anyone for any amount at any time. However, good luck trying to trade an 81 ranked player for someone's #1 future draft pick. You can't do that but the computer/AI can. The same goes with in coming trade offers. It's just a random algorithm that offers you anything hence why you get multiple trade offers for the same player even though you declined the first time. It's total garbage and makes the game so unrealistic. The same with BAP, after season one the entire NHL was thrown into a bag, shuffled and handed out. Pastrnak with the Devils, McDavid with San Jose, Zibanejad with Calgary, Barkov with Columbus, Ovechkin with Dallas on and on and on. I could possibly handle this stupid reshuffle if it stayed as is after year one, but every single year you see huge superstars move onto other teams. It's like everyone in the NHL has the same 2 year deal you have. Any team can go from dead last one year, to winning the cup the following year. The only reasoning behind wanting to be traded or go to a specific team is for the jersey only. Because the team has been put through a meat grinder several times and all the core players have been dealt elsewhere.
The saddest part is that these issues we have are for offline play options so you know EA doesn't care whatsoever.
@SkylerJames13It's all about the drops/loot boxes. They got our $60 already so we're just peasants to them. Typical "complainers" that b**** and moan however, if it wasn't for us single/offline players, the game would have never got off the ground. I remember owning this on the original Sega Genesis and it was simply the best game ever made. I lost touch for a few years and picked it back up when NHL 15 came out. I really wish 2K would handle this moving forward. I know hockey is EAs least selling sports game but there are thousands of hockey fans around the world that want a good solid game and good experience again. Every single year it's the same thing over and over just with more bugs and more glitches. Sorry for the rant, it's just frustrating falling into EAs trap every year dishing out $60 for garbage.
@SkylerJames13the simple lack of any feedback or reply just proves our points. If they want to throw out garbage every year, then give the franchise to 2K to handle. I'm sure anything 2K creates would be leaps and bounds over NHL 21. I don't even own a 2K game (my son owns NBA 2K) so I'm not on some 2K bandwagon. But if you're so rushed every year either due to Corvid, or crunch time deadlines, then I'm sure another company would love to pick this up and overhaul it from top to bottom.
I saw a post the other night about someone speaking with a developer about BAP and how it was meant for a 1 year and done style of game. We'll then how the heck do you explain the "Salary Perks"? If there is truth to this conversation, that's the saddest excuse I ever heard. I've never played any Madden game in my life (not a football fan even living in Boston) but by reading some of the older posts in the NHL 20 thread, it seems like you can seriously do anything in Madden. Create several teams, assign a running back to a different position etc. etc. I got so angry reading you can do all this cool, creative stuff in Madden and Hockey is the abandoned red-headed, step-child.
@yarg232I vaguely recall the convo you’re talking about. They focused solely on the rookie year, and then anything after that doesn’t matter. It is such a sad excuse. The entire game is a pathetic excuse of a “game”
They exploit children and gamers by using the gambling mechanics of loot boxes to keep the cash flow coming in, whereas the offline players don’t contribute anything past the initial purchase price, so we are on the bottom of the priority list, year after year.
i mean, is it lots to ask, for a couple new features after waiting 6yrs of playing a game mode that hasn’t changed?
new features, without having important features removed, and having the game mode not broken. And not tailored to a linear boring, storyline with no replay ability to it
@SkylerJames13dead on my friend. 100% dead on. I was so excited when I heard BAP was redone then played it and it's one huge mess. There are still media skill requests broken, razors edge opponent always displays the same exact amount of goals as your player, the total insanity AI of re-shuffling the entire NHL rosters via trades after season 1. There are plenty more you're aware about. Not to mention we could go on forever about the positive and negative xp you get during a game. A badly aimed shot gets me negative points!? A shot is a shot some are good, some are bad but how do I get penalized because I didn't make that perfect aim because I was too busy getting poke checked up the a**. If it's bad shot but still hits the goalie, there should be zero points added or taken away.
