They seem to be making this game less and less hockey. For the past few years players have had strange bubbles around them, and this is still prevalent and it's amazing this issue wasn't tackled this year.
There's also the referees always calling penalties on your team, but the AI is allowed to hold up your players from moving and apparently run your goalie without the goal being waved off. I don't know how many times I go to make a hit, only to miss and end chasing when my player is right in front of the opposing player. Back to the referees, I had one player get knocked down and ended up being called for tripping. How can you be called for tripping when you're the one getting knocked down?
