Does owning Nhl 21 on PS4 mean owning it on ps5?

If I buy nhl 21 on the ps4, will I be able to have on ps5 or I will need to buy it twice? (CM: Edited to update thread title to match thread topic)

    No. You just need it once as it will play on both PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X. Unless you want it for both PlayStation and Xbox. In that case, you would need to buy it twice.

      NHL 21 will not have a specific PS5/Xbox Series X version but will be playable on the new systems.

    But this says other... so you better buy the disc, and ofc ps5 with disc drive.

    But that raises another question, just why NHL 21 is not dual entitlement, but Fifa and Madden are?

      Hello, @Eehoo83 

      NHL 21 won't have a separate Xbox Series X/PS5 version so it doesn't need a dual entitlement. The game will be playable on the new consoles though.

        @EA_Aljo Nor doesn't Fifa or Madden have separate ps5 version but those have dual entitlement for digital verison. Why NHL 21 doesn't have?
