This is very much still a thing. I've had 26 year old, 91 overall, medium elites, win the Stanley Cup, and when the season turns over, they are 86 overall, Exact Top 6 Fowards, and of course I just signed them for 12 million contracts for 8 years....

But, don't worry. Blueberry told the team and they fixed it, but they didn't really manage to fix it.
