EA,maybe you should look deeper into a major UE (not Scandinavian - especially Finns) player's problem - low pings. How can we have an even game when Finns and Swedes have a ping <10ms and ours is 40-60ms and higher. Maybe there's a way to EVEN CHANCES for every player somehow? If there's a disproportion in pings value, maybe some software compenstion could engage? This difference is causing major anger while in match and often forces to disconnect from the play with great amount of anger. I have enough of opposite players skating around my D and my D responsing way too slow to be competitive. That's not the direction you wanted players using NHL20 to choose, isn't it? Yeah, the opposite - to take bigger part in the game and enjoy it. Am I wrong on that?Why aren't you thinking about getting into new servers, especially in middle Europe?Seriously, DO SOMETHING.

@EA_Aljo you are missing the point here.. its not about gold cards but ping advantage above all other stats making HUT team building meaningless and u dont need video proof to know that Fins in EU and QC in US region have that connection advantage

I've just finished a game with a FINN 82-85 team, with my 87 overall, with WC, DK and AD syngergy's. My 96 speed player couldn't go faster than gold card Pasternak 🙂 3:2 OT loss in the end. Series of !@#$% in the end.

would you like to play on equal terms? there are people with ping 5-10. in fact, no one would mind that the developers have made a setting in which a person could choose the best ping or play with people with the same ping. because it is a great torment to play with a very different ping. I paid for the game, not to be a player for an easy win.

Fellow Players!After few weeks of getting different information this is what we're told: no tilt, no scenarios, no handicap. We're crazy to think it's unfair or scripted that weaker player team with low ping can easily win a game with a team +5-6 in overall ratings. ABEL 85 CAN SKATE FASTER THAN rested 91 SERGACHEV. Deal with it.What is the reality: advantage of low ping if you're lucky to be near to the servers, EA support that sees no problem with us being frustrated with the game, there's not a big difference as I thought between skaters with 85 speed and 91. Boost especially Fins get with low pings is enormous, 83-84 sharpshooters will destroy your 90 D and 89 goalie, EASILY. They're fooling us somehow and don't give a damn about what we feel about the game. So lucky to be monopolist on the market of hockey gaming. You have absolutely no competition, don't need to take care about the even game for everybody.

There's nothing you can really do if it has to do with putting servers really close to your country. But...the good news is internet is the speed of light...
WIth that said, you can do things within your control like,
Get a Static IP for your ps4 on your router
Hardwire to the Ps4
Open the Ps4 ports listed on their support page
or use this website and open ports for NHL.

opening ports can help to a degree but there are no guarantees, especially when it comes to EA and it's servers. I highly doubt there will be any sort of compensation and artificially balancing ping wouldn't go over so well with people who have theirs increased (plus i don't think that is legal)

Is this something you're interesting in troubleshooting at all to see if we can lower your ping through connection troubleshooting? It's worth taking a shot but we can't guarantee the first steps we'll give you will show signs of improvement, but if we keep working at it we can at least do what we can to make it more enjoyable for you while we pass feedback along to the team for them to consider for discussions around server improvements. Let us know what platform you play the game on and whether you play on wired or WiFi.

6-8 months before, I went through the troubleshooting help with one of your employees - Brad, as I remember. He advised me to contact my internet provider to do some stuff and it got a tiny better. Now, I still have a ping between 45-60ms, which appears to be a difference while playing with Swedes and especially Fins. I'd go through that again if you have some other clues.
I contacted some other players from my country and they have similar issues. With slow servers around there's probably not much we can do...
I have PS4 pro, 250mb hard wired connection.

Have you opened up ports for NHL and checked your router's firmware to see if it has the latest update? I don't know if you have a gaming router, but that's always an option to consider if you're using a router provided by your ISP. Some retailers allow opened products to be returned, so it might be worth testing out just to see if there is any improvement.

Thanks! My router is updated. They allow opening ports and I did it but only with a port 1935 a month ago and it helped a looot. Should I open more for better results? Will it make any difference?

Opening up the ports listed for PS4 (NHL 20) and PS4 at the top of the article can help. Does your router have Quality of Service (QoS) where you can designate your gaming as a priority with the bandwidth?

I've just opened these ports and will report soon if there's any difference. I do not have QoS option unfortunately...
