Stuck on wrong server
I’ve grown up playing nhl... and have always gotten between 15-25 ms when playing EASHL online. But for whatever reason, when I play.... I am stuck on 40-50ms for East games and I am from Virginia!!!...
Out of curiosity, go into the EASHL hub, enter club search and see what comes up as your recommended region.
If it’s recommending your best region is other than what you know to be the best, (like central instead of east), it’s likely an ISP routing issue. This can happen occasionally and usually clears up on its own.
@Socair Did that... it says East recommended, however the other day it did say Europe recommended but it did fix itself. I was playing with some friends yesterday (All east coast players) and we joined a game and it was clearly central... one guy goes “No, not playing central”... meanwhile I’m on 16 ping... the ping I should be getting on East being in Virginia.. any other recommendations?
You could contact your ISP and have them run some trace routes to various Eastern servers and see if something is amiss.
If you try entering a drop in game solo and set it to use best location (which should be East if that’s your recommended region) check your ping before the puck drops (you could back out if you don’t want to play it) and see if it’s consistent at the 40-50ms range.
@Socair @I just did what you recommend and am on 16 in a drop in with East as recommended.. called my ISP and they suggested that it’s EA.. so confusing and annoying hahaha.
Honestly, this has been happening ever since last summer when I moved out west in California to complete an internship... took my PS4 out there and used it during the time I had downtime. Ever since coming back in August it seems as if my NHL game is confused... is only happening with NHL..
Ok, well if you are using best location and getting the lower ping it doesn’t sound as if anything is amiss. Maybe your team mate is getting a higher ping and claiming it’s on a further server, but is east?
