So, I am trying to download the Sims 4 onto my computer from Origin. I have been trying for hours but it keeps saying that there is insufficient drive space, but I don't understand because the laptop is brand new. I haven't downloaded anything, pictures, games, etc. I just want to play the game I paid for but I can not figure it out. Everything that is on my computer is already downloaded there from when I got the laptop. Thanks!
@AshleyShadwick Try changing the install location from the default to somewhere else. You can create your own folder if you want; just don't label it "The Sims 4."
If that doesn't help, please let me know whether your computer runs Windows or macOS, and how much free storage you have on your hard drive(s).
@angelicagoodland Try clearing a bit more: maybe 35 GB if you're only downloading the base game, or more if you want to add packs. Origin often requires that double the space of the installed files be available when the download starts.
If that doesn't help, clear Origin's cache, restart your computer, and change the install location for Sims 4.

I tried to save it to another file other than the default it keeps going to and it still says I need more space. It says Insufficient drive space available. Either free up 12.26 GB of space or select a different location. I have Windows. My hard drive says I have 3.4 GB free of 27.8. The laptop is brand new so there isn't anything I have downloaded that is taking up so much space.. so im just confused as to why it says I have no space.

Im having the exact same problem and it’s killing me because I was so excited! I just got this laptop yesterday and it’s saying that the storage is full,I’ve even deleted the EA app (I reinstalled it ) as well as a bunch of other files, I didn’t have this problem last night, sims was actually downloading.
