@SlytheeTove Hi,
First off, please download the Origin installation file from here: https://www.origin.com/download
Next, please navigate to your download folder and right click the "OriginThinSetup.exe" file and choose "Run As Administrator".
If that still does not work, and the installation fails, please follow the below steps in exact order:
- Manually uninstall Origin.
- Run CCleaner.
- Restart your router/modem and do a Clean Boot.
- Make sure that your UAC is enabled and set to notify.
- Download the latest version of Origin and install the client - make sure to run the setup file with administrator rights.
- Add firewall/antivirus exceptions for Origin and open the needed ports.
- When starting Origin, please make sure to run it as Administrator.
Let us know how you get on afterwards.
Cheers,
Nils
@Maxpax91 Hi,
Are you still experiencing this issue? If so, can you try looking at your reliability monitor following the steps below:
1. Press Win+R to open the run box
2. Type perfmon /rel to open the reliability monitor.
This opens a window where you can click on the error's visually shown (white X in red circle) to find the latest one related to Origin. Click show details and then paste the info that is listed in there in here.Cheers,
Nils
Hi Nils
The Good News is that I have Origin Client back working again.
Bad news is that I missed the last day of Bf1 beta :-(
Lastly, your instructions are not exactly accurate. Maybe because I was using a Origin Client Beta? All I had to do was to make sure that I did not fubar Origin Games. But there were no CRC files to be found or Download Cache directory.
The registry instructions were more or less correct. I was able to sort that out.
Thanks
Stephen
This worked for me. Although I skipped the router/clean boot steps

Hello,
I have the same problem and I just followed those exact instructions and I'm still getting the 'Well, that didn't go as planned'.
This is absolutely ridiculous, I shouldn't have to go through all this just to play the games I paid for, I'm fuming.
Not working, did everything you said in this answer but nope... Uninstalled, then used CC cleaner, the UAC was active already, rebooted the router, did a clean boot, reinstalled, added exception to windows defender and here we are, same ol' porblem...
This is way to common and far to complicated for a mother * game lunching platform. You hacks deserve to go under
I have the same problem, and it's really persistent. I've followed all the steps given by Nils, but it's still not working. I'm happy I got the Sims 4 base game for free, and now that I can't play any more at least I know I haven't spent any money. But I'm very sad about this, as I just started to like the game and was thinking about which expansions to buy...
these pages need updating
The application needs all the updating.

Hello
I have a question
i am on origin client and i want to buy fifa points on fifa 23>
But if I go to the page where i can buy it it says: We weren't able to find what you were looking for. It's possible that the page has moved. If you typed in the address manually, please check to make sure everything is spelled correctly.
How do i fix this?
With friendly greetings Leon
