Sonic Cineplayer Decoder Pack wanting to install after Apex Legends installation
I've used Origin for a few years with no issues. I installed Apex Legends last night, which would have been around 1am on February 23rd. It took about 20 minutes to download so I went off and did something else in the meantime. When I came back, the download was done, but it was sitting on an install window for trying to install Sonic Cineplayer Decoder Pack. It was asking for a CD with the correct installation files to continue with the installation. I canceled out of it and it crashed the Origin client. I figured whatever and went to bed.
Today I decided to try playing Apex Legends. The game fired up with no issues and everything worked fine. Roughly 20-30 minutes later in the middle of a match, the game minimized because that same Sonic Cineplayer Decoder Pack was trying to install again. I canceled it again, it crashed Origin again, which of course shut down Apex Legends in the process. I started up the game and was playing fine again then maybe another 20-30 minutes later the game minimized because of the installer again. This time I didn't cancel out and simply just opened the game window and continued playing. After the match was over, I quit the game and checked out what was going on with the installer. Opening Task Manager to see what was causing it, the installer is running through Origin.
I found one person talking about something like this but it was from two years ago.
I'm not sure what's going on. I haven't done anything. This only started with downloading Apex Legends and it only seems to happen while playing the game. It's running through the Origin Web Installer.
