You could try some other browsers or reset cookies, I understand if that's a little bothersome though.
Could you try logging into your account here on the EA website? Once you've logged in, you should have quite a few tabs on the left of your account. Click on 'About Me' and scroll down to the bottom until you see 'Game Specific Identities'. Look for the usernames you've registered with SPORE.
I would advise you to delete the preferences folder once again, it's not essential, but will iron out this bug. Once you've done this or skipped it, load into the game.
Next in the e-mail section when you try to sign in, you want to type your e-mail in along with a colon and the associated username you have in the 'Game Specific Identities' section on the link I provided. Then type your password in the password area.
For example: Myemail @hotmail.com:Sharples65
Try to login and hope it works; Let me know if you still need help. 🙂
Spore account creation date: August 9th 2017
GA purchased on Steam: October 14th 2017
EA account creation: February 19th 2019
So... I either created a Spore account without having an EA one or it was possible to create a Spore account without needing an EA account. It is possible I used some other EA account to create my Spore account but ended up never actually using that EA account to play games. The only Spore title I had on Origin was GA and I played it on this EA account.
I'm not deleting login.prop for the upteenth time, I've even tried changing the first line of the two from off to on.
Maybe I should actually contact support because it could be an email issue. Though I'm currently using the email that I created my Spore account with, and if you can only have one EA account per email, which I don't know or not, then there is no other EA account that could've been used to create my Spore account.

When you create a Spore account, if you don't have an EA account, it will automatically set that Spore account as your new EA account. It doesn't matter if you did this on Steam/Origin/EA App/GOG. Seems like you have two seperate accounts! Think instead that the 2017 Spore account is your EA account.
So with your Spore account, see if you can login here. If it does, well you've pretty much confirmed the e-mail and password is correct; And that this is more of an underlying issue. Hence why you should follow the steps in #5. 🙂
For your e-mail section (when you've logged into the 'See if you can login here' link and had a look at your 'Game Specific Identities'.) Go into the Spore client and try a username you've created on Spore. So for example. Myemail @myemail.com:MyGameUsernameHere
Make sure you try all the usernames!
If that doesn't work then I would say you're correct in contacting support and seeing what they say.

Before I try more of what you're saying, 5 years ago on Origin I could play using my Spore account without having to go through all these hoops and could use the Sporepedia.
I don't see the account listed in my EA profile, but I used this EA profile while playing Spore on origin so I don't know why I can't anymore.

When you've registered an account on Spore, no matter what launcher you use (or none at all), you will always be able to login with that account. There's no hard-check on a launcher for logging into your Spore account, only that the launcher itself recognizes you bought the game from the store.
With this in mind, all you really need to do is login using your e-mail and password. But it's possible EA may have removed authentication, probably due to inactivity. Get in contact with Live Chat and see what's going on.

I'll consult EA on if any other accounts have my email.
