Found this on reddit. If you go offline before starting the game it works. As soon as you sign in you get kicked though. So if you’re just trying to finish the single player part you can offline.

I’ve always been offline when trying to get it to start and it still just crashes

Worked for me for one race. I quit after that. Will try again later and post if it works.

I was able to play this morning as long as I’m offline. Probably 10 or so races. As soon as I connected though the game closed.

Hey racers,
We are aware that Dirt 5 is crashing on PS5. The team is investigating this issue. As soon as I have more info I will update you on this thread.
Thank you for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience.

HELLO Groguet 👋
Thank you for your response.
I just wanted to inform you that It's not just PS5 platforms it's also PS4 users as well. I cannot afford a PS5 yet. It would be terrible if you guys have been working all this time to restore play online for PS5 users only
I wish you guys could give us more information than just "investigating". It's been a whole week across all PlayStation platforms. I'd hope you guys would have already identified the issue and have been working on it after 7 days. Doesn't sound encouraging that you're just investigating and for only PS5...... 😢
And the game isn't crashing it's online where it crashes. The game works fine offline. So maybe that helps investigation efforts with specificity

Yeah, offline works, but you can't use the buyed DLC-s.
It's so annoying!- 2 years ago
I have the same problem on PS5. The game crashes after you press X on the splash screen before the main menu. It all started after the latest PS firmware update it seems.
The interesting thing is if you disconnect PS5 from the internet the problem disappears, but once you connect it back even being in-game the game instantly crashes. I assume it's somehow related to the Racenet logging in.
