Bloated menu why? And wrong wording!

Why do we have the choice of 5 difficulty's for the same game? Why not have 5 different game modes? I mean like Okay  pick a game mode then set difficulty and course settings when setting up a match. But here you have to pick a choice of 5 difficulty's then chose course the settings why? if you read is says mode select..... NO its difficulty select! its all the same mode just different difficulty settings.
