It isn’t “offline” at all. You need to be connected to EA servers. I had to create a new psn profile and ea account because I couldn’t reset my password on my EA account because of an old email that I can’t access.
EA help is a joke.

There has been no announcement I've seen to suggest that this will happen, and my guess is that it won't as the game will have been designed around an internet connection being present. It was stated pre-launch that an internet connection was going to be required but I appreciate this would only have been apparent for someone who went looking for this information.
It is ridiculous that we cannot play solo career mode without being connected to the EA Servers. Clearly I am not the only one having issues being connected to the EA Servers. I'm not even interested in playing online. I just want to simply play career mode and progress my created character. I can't even play one hole without losing connection with the EA Servers and getting kicked to the main menu. Even if there was an option to reconnect to the servers right there and not get kicked out to the main menu, it would be inconvenient but better because then I could keep playing. I've tried every troubleshooting guide I've seen here, as well as opened 2 chats with EA agents, and still have no resolutions. It's insane to me that in 2023, we can't play games offline in some capacity (and no, quick play doesn't count. Not for the 75 dollars I paid)
Is anyone else frustrated with the lack of playability when having issues with connection to the EA Servers? I understand needing connection to play online with people, but I can't even complete a single hole without getting the "connection lost" error and getting kicked back to the main screen. I've tried every troubleshooting option that I've been directed to, and even spoke with an agent on chat. My internet is fine, as I game online on other games perfectly fine. I just want to play career mode, which I paid 75 dollars to do, but my only option so far is to just do Quick Play. It just sucks. It would be so simple to make it available to play offline, at least for career mode. Just copy and paste whatever EA had for Rory McIlroys PGA Tour, as I was able to play that all the time with no issues.
same issues here with keeping connected I have narrowed it down to the EA server
made all fixes I can find here in the forums and the same thing all over again.
damn shame to have all these problems with everything else that is not working.

"CAREER MODE is an offline mode that will be playable at launch (but will require an online connection). You'll hear more about that during our career mode deep dive in the coming weeks."
Can someone please explain the above to me - OFFLINE is OFFLINE it needs no connection Ea !
WTF..! - @tuckermaine1 I agree it’s BS! I’m playing against the games AI, why the hell do I need to be connected to the internet?!
I'm not sure what else to say, but the fact that internet is required or literally everything except for quick play is ridiculous. Back it up to the cloud, sure. Stop me mid round because I lose internet connection is literally stupid.
I paid $70 to own the game and to be able to play it on my own terms.EA's statements on this have been very misleading. It's false advertising to call this an "offline mode" when it's online-only. I understand occasional checks need to be made to verify the account and prevent piracy, but there is absolutely is no technical reason a single-player career mode needs to be permanently online.
I've never seen this from an EA sports game before. Right now my connection is so bad that I might have to refund it.
It was over $100 Canadian for me after tax, and my connection has been dropping a lot this week. It's crazy that it's interrupting us mid-round in a single-player "offline" experience.
EA has falsely described this as an "offline mode" when it's clearly an online mode. I've never seen this from an EA Sports game before. As a long-time EA customer there was no reason for me to assume this was an online-only single-player experience. (Meanwhile, every time FIFA 23 updates, the anticheat won't let me launch the game that I also paid $100 for. I literally had to go into my computer BIOS settings, which is an unprecedented level of invasive security in PC gaming .)
