PGA Tour - Crashing on PC
Product: EA SPORTS PGA TOUR Platform:PC Summarize your bug When it loads, it shows the beginning of the game and automatically selects the next screen then crashes, back to EA platform. How often...
I am lucky if I can get through one hole on PC. I have a top tier gaming rig that was built this year. No errors or anything, just crashes instantly while playing.
I have read other posts and suggestions and tried windows, turning off vsync, turning off antialiasing, etc.
I cannot even use the refund request page on the EA site because it doesn't appear to actually work.
Ever since the update that was released on PC yesterday (06 April, 2023) the game crashes every couple of holes. Game is unplayable in its current state.
Game crashes to desktop every time I start a single player stroke game. Usually after 3 or 4 holes. My PC specs are. Ryzen 5 3600, 32 gigs. of 3600 ram. GTX 1070 ti. Game is on SSD Drive. System (windows 10) is on Disk drive. Other games work fine in this config. Game runs fine at 2560 x 1600, high settings. Until it just crashes. Every Time!
try using window mode instead of fullscreen, and also Disable Advanced Hair under options > Visuals (Its all the way at the bottom of the visual settings) see if that works. my game was crashing to desktop literally every hole since monday untill i read about this fix. and it has seemed to work for me, iv had 0 crashes since the change and have 15+ hrs now in game with zero crashes since changing to window mode and disabling the advanced hair. (and tbh, check ur ram usuage while playing in game, cuz if its maxing, iv heard your like 99% chance to crash if ur ram or gpu usage even remotely exceeds its limit. as in, make sure ur stuff isn't running maxxed out. or when it gets any "hic-cup" itll crash.
try playing in window mode. and also disable advanced hair under the visual settings (its all the way towards the bottum). It has fixed my issue and i was crashing 100% every hole since monday untill i made only those two changes. (Also iv heard because the game is poorly optimized, if your maxing out your PC playing the game, as in your ram or GPU is running near 100%, one hic-cup will make you crash.)
Hey Kapill89,
My computer was crashing as well. As I mentioned in a previous post, I dropped the FPS to 30 from 60, and it seemed to give me another hole or two before it crashed. I did however take your advice, and disabled the advanced hair. Left it at full screen though and make it almost through 18 holes before it crashed. So I then switched it to windowed mode, but still left the hair disabled and the frames at 30. Hasn't crashed again since, but I only played another 4 holes before I quit. So we will see how this works this morning. Maybe this will be the fix. With the computer I have though, I shouldn't have to play with the settings, to get the friggin game to work. There seems to be a lot of issues with this game. Hopefully, they get some patches out soon to fix this stuff, as this game has so much potential, to be the best golf game ever, if they put the work into it.
Let me know if you are still able to play with the changes you have made.
Thanks, Glenn
