i agree on your point that it seems like gamers rather than golfers are designing the game. EA seems to listen to the ApexHound who is a gamer who plays golf, but in golf, in order to shape your shots you alter your stance, this would be a better edition to the game as it was in the Links LS edition
Okay... finally someone who shares my mindset.
I know Apexhound was also someone who liked the swing change in 2K21 when it was speeded up. I personally hated what they did with it.
I fully agree with you that shaping the ball should be done in your setup preswing.
But then I think all shots should be done this way. Rather than different shot types they should just allow you to manipulate the positioning of your character. Allowing you to open their stance, move the ball up and back in your stance, and open or close the club face.
For those learning game they could do what they do currently... have a line coming off the club face showing the ball direction.
Where a hooded club face would show it coming out low.... or where an open stance with an open club face would flop high and right for a right handed player.
I would also suggest having the swing accelerate so it is slower at the start and faster at the end of the swing. Timing full swings fir distance would be more difficult... and chipping and partial swings would be more realistic. This way all shot types could be played with one swing.
Chipping and partial shots are ridiculous in 2K with that lightning quick swing.
