Forum Discussion
There is a thread about this in the Picnic forums:
https://answers.ea.com/t5/Registration-Help/Do-we-get-rewarded-for-this-test/m-p/8054045#M120
(Please note: If you didn’t participate in the Picnic Playtest, you won’t be able to see the forum I linked.)
Side Note: I’ve been a gamer over 30 years (20 years online/PvP) and this is my first Playtest/Alpha/Beta to ever be involved in.... that’s reward enough to me. Due to this post and researching the matter, it appears many people playtest for the rewards. That puzzles me.

Iv also been gaming for 20+ years and the fact is that some of these games I wouldn't choose to play if it were not a playtest. But I participate in them to get the games that I would really enjoy playing as rewards. Everyone has their types of games they like to play so putting time into a game you may not especially love playing I think should have some sort of benefit. This was a fun game, but again not one I would have put so many hours into if I would have known there was no compensation.

I understand.
I’ve only played two shooter series in my time gaming and that’s that zest of life, we’re all different. I game for fun only and tested this game to help develop it.
I completely understand and respect the fact you’re just trying to get something free - no offense intended.
When I signed up to playtest Picnic specifically, there was no mention anywhere of compensation.
😎👍
For what it’s worth, I’d gladly put in another weekend to help develop the game and think it’s a shame we won’t see you in future playtests that don’t pay.

Splash, EA frequently holds playtesting sessions at their facilities, and these usually offer game codes as compensation. The compensation varies with the amount of time commitment. I was recently invited for one that was held in 5 hour sessions over five days, and I believe the take home was five codes. Typically sessions are shorter and give one or two.
@SoGGyBiiScUiT This alpha test specifically stated there would be none, I'm sorry you misunderstood that.

But you agreed to that. Do people actually read all the terms before they sign up?
I did and it says there is no compensation.
"Your participation in the Alpha Program and any feedback [...] do not entitle you to receive compensation of any kind."
"You grant EA the right (but not the obligation) to use the Feedback for any purpose [...] without compensating you."

If anything you might have a chance to get special ingame-rewards but a free licence for a brand new game? Really?
