In another post I made on another thread about the Quest Community Challenge I said that I was assuming that the specific goals which were set for each Chest was based on a particular dataset but after actually seeing that we, the active community, have only just barely managed to unlock the Blue Community Chest I have to admit that it appears more likely that either the Community Challenge simply used the 'standard' goal numbers from the previous challenges which concerned Vanquishes or Taunts or if it was based on some sort of dataset that information did not factor out casual players or people who had left the game.
I'd like to see the Quest Community Challenge return, but only if the goal numbers are adjusted to reflect the fact that, unlike Vanquish based challenges, Quests are limited in the number which is actually available; if I remember correctly 15 per Player every 48 hours. A little off-the-cuff math says that we'd need roughly 84,000 Players to do 15 Quests each during the four days that the Community Challenge was available, basically clearing their Quest Board completely at least once.
Now I have no idea how many unique Players actually log in during any 48 hours period since those aren't public numbers and there's always a question of what percentage of those Players are concerned about clearing more than the minimum Quests to qualify to get the prizes but obviously we didn't have that sort of participation this time around, if it was actually possible in the first place.
If it comes back at all it will need to have the goals revised to better reflect something which can be achieved- it doesn't need to be easy but it needs to be more realistic.
I found this CC utterly dreadful, and as I mentioned when it started, poorly conceived. I don't think I'm going to touch another quest for at least a week. Grinding for fire cactus kills was delightful by comparison.
I knew the community wasn't going to get far on this challenge from the start tbh. they need to drastically lower the amount for the red chest to at least around 800,000 and make the quest board refresh daily if they are going to use this community challenge again
I think Pop Cap severely overestimates the number of people that play their game. They also overestimate the number of those who do play caring about the community challenge. Please wake up Pop Cap and make the challenge attainable for a small participating player base. I tweeted Pop Cap from the start to give us quest daily but that didn't happen.
