EA treats PopCap as a "mobile studio" now-a-days which really sucks since it seems like PopCap is too afraid to do anything now that isn't mobile slop.
There is the slimmest chance shooter support can come back, but I wouldn't be counting on it.
According to the PvZ3 Community Manager, there is more in plan for PvZ Heroes but we still don't know anything about those plans. Maybe more balancing?
I wouldn't blame the Community Manager (Guy who runs the Twitter) since everything he says on the PvZ socials has to be approved before he can post it. So, people have to make sure what he says is under their "brand expectations", I guess. Definitely makes communication feel a bit more sanitized and sours communication to fans but... it's not really his fault. Don't hold him accountable for it, hold the shareholders and people calling the shots accountable.
My intention wasn't holding him accountable it was Popcap and their managers
