Hey Ev1ilPenguin , we've seen the posts about the Garden Warfare 2 issues and we're waiting on more info from the teams.
Regarding this issue, here are some steps you can try to see if that helps:
- Clear the EA app's cache by clicking on the three dashes in the far-left corner > Help > App Recovery > Clear cache
-
Try adding EA app as an exclusion to Windows Security by adding the following files to the exclusion:
-
EADesktop.exe, EALauncher.exe & EABackgroundService.exe in C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop
-
- Update your graphic drivers, as some users have fixed this issue by upgrading their old drivers
- There are a few more steps listed here if that helps (the thread is for The Sims 4, but there are still steps that can be useful):
Even if he launches the game, he won't be able to play multiplayer. All game sessions remain unplayable due to hackers taking over and controlling EA's servers!

Thanks for all the info Ev1ilPenguin , you can share a DxDiag in this topic, I was hoping the previous steps would help.
By any chance have you tried performing a Clean Boot? I'll share puzzlezaddict's steps in here:
The one service to leave enabled is the EABackgroundService, which the EA App needs in order to run. Disable the rest as described.
When you reboot your computer, go through the Task Manager's background processes list shutting down any service that doesn't absolutely need to be running, for example anything from MSI Afterburner to RGB software might still be enabled. If you accidentally kill a critical process and it doesn't restart on its own, just reboot your computer again.
Don't open anything other than your game and the EA App while testing, not even a browser window.
If this helps, you can selectively reenable services until you find the culprit, then either leave that disabled or (if it belongs to an app you want to keep using) let me know what it is so we can try to fix the underlying issue. If the game freezes or crashes in a clean boot, please try again, except with your computer offline. You can sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.

Is there any hope of getting the multiplayer back at all? I want to have faith that I'll be able to play this game again but I don't know if I can believe anything EA says about fixing anything, because PVZ GW1 and GW2 have just been forgotten and doesn't seem to receive any care.

EA_Cath Will anything be done about the people with maxed out and level 46 characters? It's been a full month and my save file in GW2 is still broken. I sent in a support ticket and have been endlessly waiting for any kind of response other than "are you still having this issue".
