GW1: "Failed to launch game, error on our end caused the launch to fail".

Hey cath any update about the issues going on with the plants vs zombies garden warfare 2 servers being unplayable

Problems with launching the game are currently secondary. The immediate problem is the inability to actually play multiplayer! If you don't control the servers, and that's what it looks like, at least shut them down until the problem is resolved! At least we won't waste time trying to figure out if it's playable...

Hello Cath, I can inform you that the problem is fixed.
If any mods are enabled for PVZ GW2 it will prevent GW1 from opening. Disabling mods for GW2 can fix this issue.

By any chance have you tried performing a Clean Boot? I'll share puzzlezaddict's steps in here:

The one service to leave enabled is the EABackgroundService, which the EA App needs in order to run.  Disable the rest as described.

When you reboot your computer, go through the Task Manager's background processes list shutting down any service that doesn't absolutely need to be running, for example anything from MSI Afterburner to RGB software might still be enabled.  If you accidentally kill a critical process and it doesn't restart on its own, just reboot your computer again.

Don't open anything other than your game and the EA App while testing, not even a browser window.

If this helps, you can selectively reenable services until you find the culprit, then either leave that disabled or (if it belongs to an app you want to keep using) let me know what it is so we can try to fix the underlying issue.

If the game freezes or crashes in a clean boot, please try again, except with your computer offline.  You can sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.

Hey, yep we have informed the team. When we let people know that teams are looking into an issue, it's because we always reported it before that. We wouldn't tell players that an issue is under investigation if we haven't told anyone yet, be reassured. It can take some time between the moment players report a bug and the moment it's fixed, but don't worry, people are aware 🙂 Thank you for the report.

Like, i don't wanna be disrespectful, but so far EA hasn't really seemed to care much about the overwhelming cheater situation in the GW games....

If these "teams" really are actually working on a solution, then good. I hope the solution is effective and swift.
And if this is actually just PR nonsense to subdue the community while nothing actually gets done, then honestly thats sadly pretty expected from EA.
I certainly hope it's the former, and not the latter, but given EA's complete lack of effective anti-cheat action the past few years, I don't have very high hopes...

EA_Cath​ Will anything be done about the people with maxed out and level 46 characters? It's been a full month and my save file in GW2 is still broken. I sent in a support ticket and have been endlessly waiting for any kind of response other than "are you still having this issue".

Is there any hope of getting the multiplayer back at all? I want to have faith that I'll be able to play this game again but I don't know if I can believe anything EA says about fixing anything, because PVZ GW1 and GW2 have just been forgotten and doesn't seem to receive any care.
