No party system to play with friends? PC Garden Warfare

I have a group of 5-7 friends that get together regularly  for PC LAN partys. We were going to add this game into our rotation but I can't find any way to create a party and play multiplayer with friends. Is this coming in a patch? This is such an obvious oversight for a modern game I hope you can tell me I'm missing an option someplace.

  • 1 person hosts then invites friends from there. Set it to invite only if you don't want any randoms to join. They can also join your game when you host a game or if you're in one.

You can't simply form a party then go together in one of the versus game modes, but with time, people can switch over your team

No. There is no option to "host" a mult-player game  (I am not talking about Garden Ops here which is limited in number of players and completely impractical for LAN parties).  The only option I see for multiplayer is "Search" for games that already exist. This is broken and does not allow a group of 5-7 friends to play together.

Randomly searching for a game and inviting 6 friends before the slots fill up is impractical and not a solution.

This game needs a patch that at a minimum allows a player to host a multiplayer game with his friends before opening it up for others and Ideally a party system that would keep everyone together as they move from game type to game type.

Currently this game effectively has no support for playing multiplayer modes with friends.

  • This was apparently "in the works" months ago and is included in the PS4 release but the PC version has not had it implemented yet? I got the game for free on PS4 and really liked it but I have friends who really play PS4, mostly PC. So I got a copy for PC and was really excited to dive into something which wasn't Call of Blandfield 15 with friends buuuuut..... no parties on PC??

Gutted, guys. The PC port of the game is great but not being able to actually group with friends is a horrible oversight for an on-line multiplayer game.
