Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare "Must be Signed In"

I can open the game, I can get through the opening cutscene, but that's it. After the cutscene ends it says "You must be signed in to Origin to continue." I try restarting Origin, Logging out and back in, and restarting my computer, but it gives me that message every time I open the game. I just bought the digital deluxe edition today, and have tried opening it several times. It hasn't gotten past that message once, and the only option on the game is "Minimize to desktop". Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Is Origin and the game installed on the same harddrive / partition?

Reinstall Origin to the partition the game is on, re-map origin to the game install folder.

    -------

    Try running Origin as Admin.

    ------

Any software that might be blocking/interfering with it?  Disable AV/Firewalls and test.

Origin was on the same hard drive as the game, but I uninstalled and reinstalled anyways and it still didn't work. Also disabled firewalls and tried again, still didn't work.

What firewall(s)?  Bitdefender one... one guy reported he had to uninstall it.

You can try changing your DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 in adapter settings IPv4.

    CMD ->  ipconfig /flushdns

(no clue why some people said that worked but I guess)

A chinese guy posted said this fixed it for him:  (the quote I fixed a command or two I think)

Just the default mcafee ones that came preinstalled. Also I did those commands in CMD and it just ends up saying something can't be done because of bluetooth.

You can try a clean boot...  might be enough to shake something if it is a program interfering

Not sure what the bluetooth error deal is.. u could try just turning off your bluetooth.  If your laptop has one of those "easy" switches for airplane mode maybe would be a simple way to do it.

I was having the same issue (running PVZ on Windows 7 on iMac dual boot). The game had previously worked fine with no issues, but recently I was getting the message 'Must be signed into Origin to continue' even though I was signed into Origin and had launched the game from inside Origin - very frustrating. I had tried to unistall the game adn reinstalled but that did not solve the issue. After reading the posts in this blog, I started looking at my AV firewall settings. Not an ideal solution, but if I disable my AV firewall, the game connects to Origin and works fine. Problem solved with the game but my firewall is now off.

GW2Problem   Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2  "Must Sign In"

Problem: You are logged on to Origin, but GW2 won't play and says you have to logon to Origin first.

    This worked for me:

    1. Search for and turn off your security – McAfee etc

    2. Search for GW2 and change rights from system to administrator rights or privileges for user

    3. Run it, if it works, then turn back on security and try it again.
