Plants vs Zombies Neighborville on XBox One problems

Hi,

my family has been a big fan of all the Plants vs Zombies games, and we do enjoy Neighborville (deluxe edition) game (however its crashes a lot)  ☹️  we would like to know if you have suggestions

We have it running on an XBox One and a XBox One X.  

It will "crash" and return to the home screen  on missions or even just in Giddy Park.

It seems to crash only when we are playing "Plant" characters.  this will happen when playing solo.. but much more often when my son and I are in a party together on 2 separate XBoxs.

We  have reinstalled the game of both consoles, and tried all the fixes we have found on online.  we do have only ASCII character in player name(s). We are running Open NAT.

Also it doesn't seem to crash in playing just a particular class of plant characters but any of them! ☹️  

Also it doesn't crash  only when CPU resources are used heavily (e.g. in a intensive battle with  many enemies) but it can crash simply when just walking a character around.

It will crash in public and private mode..but seems more so in private mode (which doesn't seem to make much sense to me)

Please let me know what you can suggest to make this game playable
