PS PLus - PVZ Battle for Neighborville

Is PS+ a must requirement?

I dont mean if it is required to start the game, as it was in PVZ1, one can see easily that PS+ is said to be optional.

But how much of the game, its features, rewards are online (ps+ required) related?
As not being a PS+ member, will I miss any of features, zones , rewards available for who is PS+ member?
Or any feature and reward can also be accessed in offline mode?
