Re: Ability discussion: stations, beams, and hose.

In GW, I mostly used the default heal station. The armored one got buffed in GW2 as it wasn't as good, but I recall people parsing it out and it's still not as good but at least it's closer in effectiveness. The cheetah station is somewhat amusing to hear as it heals. When I see that station more than the other 2 as a plant, I go after it heavily as it's both very powerful and easy to take out.

Once GW2 came around, I've swapped almost fully to the heal beam, but I do still the stations on occasion, especially when soloing as a scientist on the flag of power for quests and I have no one to use the beam on. The flag is also about the only time I use my bling armored station!

My main issue with BfN's hose is that one of the reasons I play GW and GW2 over other multiplayer shooters, even TF2, is that healing characters tend to have to choose between healing or attacking and yet the GW games let us do both so we feel less restricted, and the hose goes right back to forcing you to choose and focus on one or the other, especially if your heal thingy is down. As someone who doesn't go for the assault scientist, I really prefer the GW/GW2 model where I can focus on healing while simultaneously being able to defend myself.

@Iron_Guard8The station is an nice alternative for when your alone and want to heal yourself but dont bring heal bomb.

I think the hardcore beam healer route is why mercy eventually got pushed into irrelevancy in overwatch as all the new healers are a dps hybrid that are more interesting in gameplay. Even the tf2 medic whom she draws inspiration from can still shred peoples faces off if necessary and turn the tide with ubercharge so he has a reason as to why the beam is so vital. Not too mention his sadistic personality being 100x more enjoyable than generic pacifist waifu bait.

Tfc medic was probably my favorite healer as you just pop by overheal them than delete your enemies as you fly through the air with conc grenades before shooting them with a super shotgun or infecting entire enemy teams with a disease.
