Re: Am I the only one playing out of a sense of obligation?

@spIash_damageBut you can go to different games? It is sad of course if your friends want to keep playing BFN and you want to quit, but that's just how gaming is. Or you can find a fun side-game to play with your buddies so they can keep playing BFN. Yeah, it is unfortunate and sad to leave those friendships behind. Luckily, I've got other ways to spend time with some of my friends who only play GW2.
I see what you mean and I should have known that this was about more than the game.
Not so much.
I quit gaming 10+ years back because I’m reallllly picky about a game’s mechanics and I got busy with life (40 in January).
I only started gaming again because bullies had my children to the point of crying (dang near) in GW1 one night when I walked past their door. I didn’t expect to fall in love with the series but really did.
Now, I’m not the normal gamer in the fact I only kept playing the series for my buddies and to set records.... there’s no record keeping or leaderboard in BfN plus the servers are so laggy after the last “fix,” I truly can’t play.
If something doesn’t change by the time I acquire my land, I’m out (sad at the loss of time with friends but happy to finally acquire land).
I have ZERO desire to game with strangers and now any bullies that pick on my children can be sorted out by their cousins (now in their mid teens).
Simply put - if BFN doesn’t work for me and we don’t see GW3, I’m out. 🙁
