Giddy Park is a strange place, but when things like that happen, the greatest victory is making them stand there for absolutely no reason while you're in a match making progress. When someone exploits, never give them the satisfaction of racking up kills
- @PineapplePiano Aww, not good! I agree, I think there seems to be a far greater amount of people who delight in being rude & generally trying to upset or anger other players.
Giddy Park seems to be a particular hotspot for it, which is why I stay in private but I really don't think people should have to do that, because it restricts their fun in the hub.
Unfortunately this behaviour also extends to PvP & even Ops matches and really needs addressing 🙄😖 @PineapplePiano
Like @ToastedSarnie I have had my Giddy Park on private for months now due to such issues which just make the whole thing not fun, so sorry to hear you have been having this experience.
Occasionally I will put my Giddy Park on public, generally after seeing people talking about making friends with the other team or having fun taking people to the gnomey bit etc.... but it only ever lasts about 5 minutes before I give up and go back to private.
Something really should be done about it as many people, young and old, are having their Giddy Park experience ruined for them and that just isn't fair.... it is a big problem for many sadly.
While, in the meantime, the perpetrators rack up their cheap kills and gain xp while not really making an effort to play the game in the way it was intended. Ruining other peoples fun for their own selfish gains and cheap laughs. They should be ashamed of themselves 😠
Truly sucks and as this is the first experience many new folks will have of the game I am sure many of them will be put off playing the game at all and who can blame them.
Hope the Devs take note and do something to address this issue sooner rather than later 🤞I have my Giddy Park set to Public most of the time, and often I see players spawn-camping and trying to get many free kills out of it. I don't really find this to happen as often in Ops and Multiplayer PvP, but there are definitely players (especially in Giddy Park) who tend to be rude, mostly via messages, emotes and taunts, as well as racking up a lot of free kills. So, for me, it's a bit hit and miss! 🤔
- @asabaida I agree - it really doesn't give a very good impression to new players.
It's very sad more hasn't already been done to counter this, because I remember how much fun Giddy Park was during testing & the early days of Founder's - there was a much more friendly & community feel about the hub. The last two weeks, I’ve been playing in Europe and South America and have only seen one person taunt me after one frag on those servers. It’s amazing the difference in cultures as FAR FEWER people try that bunny hopping trash/corner glitching; America is super trash, comparatively.
East and West American servers are FULL of people cheating and taunting with great toxicity to the point I expect to see them DAILY in BA.I’ve had only 2 people I confront admit they were cheating and everyone else I’ve confronted either won’t respond or call me racial terms and the large majority have their messages turned off altogether.

I have my Giddy Park set to private at this time. I played several matches of the weekly last night and had zero experience with any of this kind of behavior. If anything it's been the opposite as there's one player I've seen fairly often in PvP over the last couple of weeks and Zack Scott videos also says GG if they're on the podium, win or lose and I've not seen any taunts in game from other players.
However, as this is obviously happening, it needs to stop. There are far too many younger players and while us old farts can just roll our eyes, laugh it off, or get some payback, I'm not a fan of people using abusive behavior against someone's 6 year old.

I wanted to add that due to some people using the emotes and such to be nastier than normal (especially the poop one), I turned off my chicken sighting quote which wasn't meant to be an attack (although it could be taken as such out of context), it was meant to be silly and to reference an old in joke from when I played BF: 1942 a lot.
There were hot keys to announce stuff to your team and I started calling out:"Enemy submarine spotted!" even though we were playing maps with no ships or water at all and it became an in joke. We only did this in private matches obviously, but the chicken one made me chuckle but I've seen people using it against each other which ruins the fun.
Online competitive games have a lot of toxic players unfortunately, but the PvZ shooters have been pretty decent overall, even when in GW1 people had their mic stuck open all the time before a patch. I'll do what I can to avoid increasing these issues but not sure what we can do to keep bad actors from causing problems, those glitches need to be fixed which will help, but behavior can be hard to change.
I will continue using my 'Sandwiches!' emote though! I swear PopCap read my mind for that one, I use that as a silly battle cry a lot.
- @Iron_Guard8 Unfortunately a lot of the emotes & stuff have double meanings (some truly disgusting) that not everyone will be aware of, so it's also hard to work out how some things are being used & meant.
I was only enlightened recently about a few of them & now I'm honestly so worried about accidentally causing offence that I've stopped using all but dances, a few strategies & the most clear-cut of social phrases 😧 - @PineapplePiano I know these situations where I want to counter the spawn campers. Sometimes it works, sometimes not, especially If there are cheaters.
If it becomes unfair messing around in Giddy Park due to exploiters and cheaters it makes no sense to stick around. You just feed them. Last time I stayed in Giddy Park to make some footage to report a player I got vanquished 9 times in a row by him and he still is allowed to continue his unfair playstyle. You guys are right- Giddy park used to be a lot of fun, but I don't see it getting any better soon. I'll switch my giddy park today 👍
I still frequent a Public Giddy park, but mostly because I keep my account open for new people to join- my higher Rank is attractive to newbies who want help in the PvE areas- and i like to lead people to the secret Gnome area.
Spawn camping is not always rampant but I do see one team or another bunched up at the other's drop-in point pretty often. While I'm not opposed to PvP combat in the Park I, more often then not, tend to keep to myself shooting targets until someone takes a shot at me but even when I join in the combat I don't hang out at the spawn point and take a dim view of those that do and if I'm particularly bored I'll often join the team being camped to help break up the campers.
As far as toxicity is concerned I haven't encountered a lot. Most recently I saw it in Turf Takeover when a Timed Challenge forced me into the 8v8 again about a week ago.
I'm not opposed to the gesture taunts- I know I did my fair share back in GW2- because those are pretty goofy and somewhat entertaining, but where BfN has introduced Emotes and expressions some of the isolated ones that they came up with have been combined into deliberately offensive statements. I've seen the "Poop" emote or the "What Smells?" expression combined with the "It's You!" expression a few times.
The developers undoubtedly wanted these to be fun and amusing but that sad fact is that some of them were almost immediately twisted together into offensive taunts and I've left several lobbies which had players using them because i find it distasteful.
- JusticeHeroX6 years agoSeasoned Ace@PineapplePiano I switched to private long ago. Game is relaxing since then.
