Re: One Idea to Alleviate Reviving Frustrations
I do press the revive button in most of the cases you've mentioned. But it all depends on the game, whether there are people who actually care about reviving or not, and who's reviving me... You don't know, maybe a Citron/Super Brainz/All-Stars are reviving you with their shields up. Or a Nightcap/Foot Soldier hiding your body using their abilities then reviving you. I personally tried that with the fast revive upgrade, it works great! I got 20-ish revives as both. And I think that they're actually better than Sunflower/Scientist in terms of reviving because you can fully conceal yourself and the body.
But in general, I think that people assume that others would press the respawn button, so why bother going there anyways. It happened to me a couple of times, I saw a scientist passing by, he waited 2 ~ 3 seconds around my body... then I assumed he totally ignored me. At the same exact time I pressed the button, he came to my body trying to revive me. So I think that people either don't notice vanquished allies fast enough or they just assume that most people would just press the respawn button anyways.
That's why, as soon as someone falls, I try to revive them as fast as possible. But only if they were shooting from cover. Folks who die near enemy spawns or out in the open... well, I don't bother... I think that Nightcap/Foot Soldier are better at that.
What you've mentioned is really important though... I think that players who try to revive others should know that whomever they're reviving had pressed "respawn" already. This could be a gesture that indicates they were in danger or think that it wasn't an appropriate place to be revived..
But yet again, I understand what you're saying! It's "their" problem. The people who risk it to revive you. And I think that they should learn who to revive and who to leave alone if they want to be more efficient (by staying alive and contributing to the team I mean).
