I already fixed the error that was messing with my Origin games but i decided to come back here to post the solution that worked for me in order to help other people.
Well, lets go!
THE ERROR/PROBLEM - What is it?
These errors happens with lots of other EA ORIGIN games, not just plants vs. zombies.
- The game keeps stuck in istallation forever...
- The directx error message
- other erros...
Why this happens?
iT SEEMS that the directx is not installing due to some corrupted files... but i dont know how EA let that happen.. its really mindblowing.
How can i fix it?
i Tried the solutions of ALL THE OTHER PAGES of this forum and none of them worked for me UNTILL....
THIS ONE one of the guys above explained:
1. GO TO THE ORIGIN GAMES FOLDER > {YOUR GAME} FOLDER > DIRECT X FOLDER > REDIST FOLDER
In the regist folder delete all files EXCEPT THESE 5:
1. Dsetup.dll,
2. dsetup32.dll,
3. dxdllreg_x86.cab,
4.DXSETUP.exe,
5.dxupdate.cab,
AFTER THIS, CLOSE ORIGIN (which by the way must be frozen now right?) RESTART WINDOWS.
then, go to same folder you deleted all the files and INSTALL DXSETUP. (dont open origin yet)
the, restart windows and OPEN ORIGIN. Now you will be able to install and play your game.
I HOPE THIS WORKS! but if didnt work you might have to try other things like formating your pc... : (
