Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 1 will be shutdown on April 28, 2026 on PS3.

I'll be honest, I think this is a mistake. It's very strange that they decided to do this on the PS3 because Garden Warfare 1 on PS3 is still an extremely active game even today in 2026. (Not to mention that, unlike the Xbox 360 version, you can still buy things since the store is still active.)

Whenever I logged in, I could find full lobbies with people, some even using voice chat every day. I'd even say there are more people playing GW1 on PS3 than on PS4, Xbox 360/One, and heck, even more than GW2 on PC.

I even got the PS3 version to get the platinum trophy last year:

I think this marks the beginning of the end for Garden Warfare 1. The PS3 version was definitely the most active; I don't see people abandoning GW2 or BFN on PS4/Xbox One/PC to go back to GW1, and there simply aren't many people on Xbox 360 these days.
