Pogo Llama: Hi Pogo Sean! Congrats on bringing Thousand Island Solitaire HD to Pogo! I’ve been really enjoying getting to know this game and I can’t wait to get some “insider” information! First, for players not already familiar with the game, what can they expect?
Pogo Sean: Hello Pogo Llama, thank you so much for having me back. I am excited for our players to get into and play Thousand Island Solitaire HD.  The first time you start the game, you’ll have the option to play a short, informative tutorial. The tutorial will guide you through a quick session introducing all the game mechanics, so you can learn by example.
In addition, you can access the How To Play menu by clicking or tapping on the “?” in the top-left corner of the screen.

Pogo Llama: What do the bonus chests do?
Pogo Sean: Each ship pile has a treasure chest which can be opened if the Player reaches a specified distance value. The target distance is chosen at random per pile and is always a multiple of 100. One bonus is selected from each of the following ranges:

• 200-400
• 500-800
• 900-1000

The trick is to land on exactly the right spot, so play your distance cards wisely. When you land on a treasure chest, bonus points are applied at the end of the game. If you draw a hazard card when landing on a treasure chest, you’ll be awarded a lifesaver card so you can continue on your journey without delay.

Pogo Llama: I enjoy the animation on the cannon. Can you please tell our players what the purpose of the cannon is?
Pogo Sean: The cannon is a helpful tool that lets you blast away the top card in the draw pile, potentially giving you access to a critical card below. After you use the cannon two times, it wheels off screen. The cannon can only be used if the draw pile contains more than two cards.

Pogo Llama: What is the overall goal for each game of Thousand Island Solitaire HD?
Pogo Sean: In Thousand Island Solitaire HD, the goal is to get your trade ships to the destination by placing distance cards and navigating hazards. You’ll be building three separate stacks of cards, trying to reach the goal of 1,000 or more points in each.

Pogo Llama: How does the Log Book work?
Pogo Sean: The Log Book contains information pertaining to collectibles the player is carrying, or has delivered throughout the course of their games.

Pogo Llama: How do you rank up in the game?
Pogo Sean: Rank points are gained when a player completes a full trade mission and is awarded rank points for cargo items.

Pogo Llama: Now this is one of my favorite new features!  I see day to night change in the background. Can you tell me even more about the art direction?
Pogo Sean: For Thousand Island Solitaire HD, we wanted to use vibrant but simplistic graphics to improve the  visual clarity of gameplay area and menus. The team went with a colorful and contrasting pallet, using colors and visuals as a way to further connect game elements together.

Regarding the different time of days seen while playing, each time a game is played, the background of the game area could change.

Pogo Llama: You can restart a game in the middle now?
Pogo Sean: Correct, players are now able to restart their game and get a fresh deal if they are not happy with how their current game is progressing.

Pogo Llama: I see there are 100 Ranks, just like all the other games upon release. Will there be Game Award Badges?
Pogo Sean: Thousand Island Solitaire HD will have the standard set of launch Badges as well as rank Badges that are awarded every 10 ranks.
