you have to save the game each time before you leave the board.
Find the Save icon at the bottom right of your screen. Looks like a map, next to the Degrees icon. It is titled "Save & Exit".
Takes you to the room you are in.
Click it again and it takes you to the game map.

I save every time i leave and items still go missing. Havent been able to collect the trash can energy evr, and able to collect the coins once in 2 weeks. definitely some glitches
