This is a very common misconception, a brand-new device might seem ready out of the box, but it often needs a series of updates to bring it up to speed.

Even though the hardware is fresh, the software inside might already be out of date. When you first power on our device out of the box, it often goes through a series of updates — security patches, system improvements, and driver fixes, all designed to make sure everything is running smoothly and safely.

However, you purchased yours during a historic moment in technology. Rather you have purchased a Windows or Apple device there were heavy updates for all of us in October - November 2025, some of these updates included updates to our graphics drivers as well.

    "What is a graphics driver?"

A graphics driver is software that enables your computer's graphics hardware to communicate with the operating system and applications, allowing it to render images, videos, and animations properly.

Graphics Card (GPU): The physical hardware that performs the actual rendering of graphics.
Graphics Driver: The software that tells the GPU how to do its job (they talk, lol)

Think of it as the GPU is the artist and the driver is the art director, telling the artist what to draw and how 🖼️

You mentioned clearing your cookies in cache, that is very important to know on a browser-based gaming site like Pogo, we need to do this often.

Additionally, most users are unaware that our devices never stop updating:

    🖥️ Windows

    • Patch Tuesday: Microsoft releases cumulative updates on the second Tuesday of each month. These include security fixes and performance improvements.
    • Optional Updates: You might also receive one or two optional updates later in the month, such as .NET Framework updates or driver enhancements.
    • App Updates: Microsoft Store apps and third-party software (like browsers or antivirus tools) often update independently or waiting for your approval, adding another 1–2 updates monthly.

    🍎 MacBooks (macOS)

    • System Updates: Apple typically releases macOS updates every 1–2 months, but critical security patches may come more frequently.
    • App Updates: Apps from the App Store or third-party sources may update weekly or biweekly.

    💡 Why So Many Updates?

    • Security: Frequent updates help patch vulnerabilities and protect against malware.
    • Stability: Updates fix bugs and improve system performance.
    • Compatibility: New drivers and software updates ensure your laptop works with the latest hardware and apps.

Please ensure you check for browser and system updates often, sometimes they update automatically, other times they are waiting for our approval.:

    Check for Browser updates:

    1.

    Check for Device Updates:

If you decide one day to check your graphics driver, I can help walk you through the process or you can do a search online on how to, there are many videos and articles online. Even Apple and Windows have their own forums and posted articles for help!

Just make sure you check for updates often because they are never ending, I'll be doing the same 😊

  • I'm sorry but I don't know what a graphics driver is. 🤔 I cleared the cookies & cache but to no avail. I bought this laptop in September, so I don't think anything is outdated. At least, I hope not. 😉 It's like a mystery without any clues. Thank you, abbycattx, for your help.

Thank you of taking the time to check again. When this happens, it is commonly a sign of something needing attention, such as an update on our device.

    ⚙️Quick Checks to Try:

Update Graphics Driver: If the graphics driver is outdated or corrupted, the browser may fail to render those visual elements.

Cookies & Cache: Over time, devices can get bogged down with old files. Try logging out of Pogo and clear your browser’s cookies and cache. This gives our devices a fresh, clean path to communicate with Pogo’s servers.

Outdated Browser or System: October 2025 has brought significant updates for Windows and Apple users on all devices, please check that your system has the latest updates and patches > Pogo Troubleshooting Guide | EA Forums - 10424297

Give these steps a try to see if this helps with the display issue. *If you are unsure or apprehensive about any steps, there are many videos and articles to help - just search something like, "how to update my graphics driver on my windows laptop" Most of these system checks take less than a min 🙂

If you need help or have any questions, please ask!

I just checked and there's still no cards showing. I hear the cards bring dealt but no cards appear.

Hello! Sorry to hear the game isn't dealing any cards out to you, that would be a difficult game to play! Is this issue still occurring or were you able to eventually play?
