Forum Discussion
Good morning, everyone. My post was removed yesterday for putting a book name by Cory Doctorow that broke the profanity rules. It is the actual name of the book but I will not list it here again just in case this post is also taken down.
The beginning of my post stated that I was having to rethink the last few days after a post on the POGO forum by rilla6969. This person had noticed that the coins to be won per game had been reduced. In the past when one defeated a level you could win 25, 50 or 75 coins (easy, hard or super hard) and two points plus 5 extra points for every joker card left in your hand once one had won. Now, all a person can earn per level is 20, 40 and 60 coins. There is only one way to change an integral part of the game, and EA Games made that decision to do a hard reset.
This means that all of the players who had amassed a large collection of Maple Coins, powerups and boosters through game play, completed chores, daily tasks, wheel spins, mini games and the calendar awards have been punished. Many of us understood, early on, that the games in some cases were next to impossible to win. I once lost over 500 games because I refused to use any booster, power up or coins to win. As it is impossible to know, from this end, how many individuals were playing for coins, were close to or had completed the last Chapter, it would have only required a simple code change in the algorithm to punt all of those individuals, including myself, right back to the very beginning. As for the 150 gems we spent to buy the HALLOWEEN SEASON? We ain't getting the 150 gems or the HALLOWEEN SEASON back folks.
It is the old boiling the frog method. Increase the temperature incrementally, slowly and over a long period of time, the frog boils without realizing it. EA Games is doing the same thing, decrease the awards won, increase the cost incrementally over time and before the members realize it, they are paying for a game they love to play without understanding when the change actually occurred. Read Cory Doctorow's book. It is an eye-opener and EA Games is guilty on all counts. Cheers everyone!
